A number of leading professional bodies joined forces in 2013 to launch the UK’s first ever Professions Week. It is our aspiration to increase awareness for the range and variety of potential employment options the professions have to offer, helping likeminded organisations recruit people from a diverse range of disciplines and backgrounds.
Due to the success in 2013, the Access to the Professions group was established to help build upon and compliment the role of the Professions Week. This group includes the existing professional bodies set up for the Professions Week in addition to several new bodies.
Together we want to help the professions be viewed as an interesting and fulfilling career option for young people, and it is our hope that the Professions Week, a part of Access to the Professions, will help to spotlight this gap in career paths for those entering the workforce.
We are currently organising the 2014 Professions Week which will be held from 10th to 16th November.
If you are a careers adviser or teacher and want to run an event, contact the professional body for your area of interest and ask them if they can help do something with you during the week.
